Some time ago I had a chat with a friend of mine who qualified with me in pharmacy and both of us decided for various reasons that the profession was going through a period of massive change. We both agreed that in the future that there would be automatic hole in the wall type dispensaries.
For once unfortunately I was right.
The above link shows what I feared! The profession needs to stand up for its role or it may have problems in sustainability.

How many times have over the years we all heard that message in life, its ok if you know why the person is sponsoring the event/activity. But do we all know when we are on the gravy train or what the sponsor is actually telling us.
Having spent some time working in the pharmaceutical field and pondering what was going on around me and what the data that I was being fed was based on I was originally planning calling this blog, ”Pharming”, (but that one is already being used, and no I haven’t looked it up), as at times I felt at times that some of the stuff I was looking at in my trough actually had less substance than cattle feed.
So now that this blog has been retitled and has finally got going I first have to set out some key aims of the blog:
1) To look at some info in the media from pharmaceutical companies and try and work through it.
2)To look at the associated health care info in the media and try and work out what it is based on and highlight if it is balls.
3)To try and clarify for myself where I stand on some issues in this world of cost effective, protocol, guideline driven healthcare.
4)Hopefully to help some others think about some issues associated with healthcare from a non-commercially sponsored viewpoint.
